Happy Birthday Mom!

Last week was a roller-coaster of a week

it began with my father in hospital after a bad fall

and ended with all of us in my parents' house

celebrating my mom's birthday

My sister baked an excellent chocolate cake

(you can tell that we did her proud)

and the table was decorated with candles

that I'd cosied with bits of embroidery

Two new softies joined us today

they seem very nice, their colors are gay

but behind their backs we can't help but stare:

do they know that the have no hair?

Welcome 2015!

I have so many plans for the coming year
