I'm Back!

I'm back from my Provence vacation!
It's been a busy landing - straight into my brother's wedding
and a ton of work and other stuff
so I've yet to sort through my vacation photos
of which there are a lot!
For now I'm showing a few crochet flowers
you can picture me making them by the pool in our villa

Mazel Tov Ela and Itamar

My brother Itamar and his sweetheart Ella
got married on Thursday
The ceremony was held in the office of the Rabbinate in Tel Aviv

When the ceremony ended a friend of my brother's
surprised us all by invited the Breslov Hasidim troop
to play a happy version of traditional music
and in a moment we had a street party

The wedding party is a three-day affair on the beach
in a beautiful, unspoiled stretch -
they built a communal area for food and recreation
and everyone has their own tent

I'm a Barbi Girl

In my family barbecuing is an art form
traditionally reserved for men
recently, my sister and I decided to give it a try
and made a huge plate of vegetables

How it was done:
1. I bought a ton of vegetables in a multitude of colors
2. we sliced and sliced and sliced
and then seasoned with olive oil and oregano
3. we 'manned' the grill - it took more than an hour!
(here sister did most of the work as I set the table)
4. we arranged the plated and waited for applause
It was almost all gone, so - success!

Let There Be Light

Be who you are
and say what you feel
those who mind don't matter
those who matter don't mind.

Sunday Morning In Isfiya

Isfiya is a Druze village near Haifa -
It lies on the very top of mountain Carmel
and has the best views, the coolest breeze,
and a million little corners to explore

In the way of such places it can get
very busy and commercial during the weekends;
so the middle of the week is the time to come visit
and I've recently noticed a wool shop that needs checking

Ode to the Skip

dear neighborly skip
you are (almost) always worth the trip
your junk and treasures I love to roam
I just wish I had more room at home

found by the skip - and it is pink!

Who Said I Wasn't Using my Dumbbells?

From this excellent tutorial I got a new idea
for fabric scraps - a handmade rope!
I've braided together a small stack of fabric ribbons
and can testify that it both relaxing and addictive.
I can think of many uses -
from ribbons to coasters, a basket and more
and am glad that my dumbbells have finally found some use

A June Tune

Welcome to you - month of June
the stifling heat of summer will be here quite soon
but for now we'll enjoy your blooms and your breeze
and the holiday of Shavuot - with its abundance of cheese
