Cross-Stitch Revisited

If you can spend a perfectly useless afternoon
in a perfectly useless manner,
you have learned how to live

Who took the cookie from the cookie jar

I made a batch of butter cookies in different designs
and wrapped them in boxes that I recycled from this and that
to give the children as treats during the party

Dear Holly Hobbie

A long dress, an apron, plenty of patches
a really big hat that always matches
dear Holly Hobbie, it is a disgrace
that we never ever see your face

Corners of My Home

I've been doing some work on the veranda
it is ready for spring, though we've hardly had any winter

The last item in was the runner hanging from the rail
the runner was a gift and I added the pink crochet border
I'm still debating whether to add a couple of doilies in the same wool

Teletubbies, anyone?

Dana made her own version of the teletubbies
she's certainly seen enough of them to know her material

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Po,
Teletubbies, say hello!
The sun is setting in the sky;
Teletubbies say good-bye.

Happy Birthday Mom

We had a nice weekend celebrating my mom's birthday
my contributions included the needlework greeting card
(top left-hand corner), the flowers
and the table settings that came out quite nice -
an origami tea-bag flower with a rosemary branch on each plate
